RE: UPDATE ON 2019 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING NEGOTIATIONS

We refer to the above matter and advise that parties appeared before the NEC for the 3^rd and final meeting in an attempt to resolve the dispute arising from the collective bargaining negotiations committee.  The employer party refused any improvement on its offer and NEWUZ remained in its position as previously advised.  The dispute shall be referred to arbitration in terms of the law.

Please take note ZEWU signed the agreement and the dispute is now between NEWUZ and the Energy Employers Association.  It behoves on me to thank you all for remaining steadfast in your demand and quest for a living and decent wage.  I have no doubt in my mind that together we shall fight for this inalienable right through the dispute resolution mechanism available in law.
