SUBJECT:  Update on ZESA collective bargaining negotiations

We refer to the above matter and advise that the NEC General Council met today 17 March 2011 and attempted to settle the dispute.  It has been agreed that ZESA be given time to consult as per their request.  The General Council shall then meet on 28.03.2011 at Bulawayo and attempt to settle the dispute again.  In the event that settlement fails the matter shall be referred to voluntary arbitration without further delay.

Meanwhile our notice to resort to Collective Job Action remains in force and members are urged to prepare for action in defense of a decent living.  It is reiterated that you shall not act on anyone else’ signal other than the undersigned.

God created man to enjoy the fruits of the earth, not to be exploited by the corrupt and evil.  Man is not fruit neither is he a product or commodity.

Regards,

T. Masvingwe

General Secretary
